More Mascots Please is a Community Interest Company (CIC) located in the heart of the West Midlands region. The aim of More Mascots Please CIC is to make a difference to the lives of disabled, disadvantaged and terminally ill children, based in the Black Country and Birmingham areas, who require a little extra support and assistance to get through their everyday lives.

 

With the help of our magical mascots, More Mascots Please CIC intends to facilitate as many events for children and young people as possible. We continually are fundraising and charging both individuals and groups for our services. We charge for everything that we deliver.

 

This means we can give much needed support and opportunities to children and young people in the West Midlands. We are very competitive in our pricing structure so book our mascots now. Every single penny of profit counts, as all money raised goes directly back into the company and is used not only to make a difference to the lives of children and young people, but also to make their wishes become a reality!

 

Since 17th  May, 2013, More Mascots Please CIC has helped over 400 deserving children and young people in the Black Country and Birmingham area. We have worked tirelessly bringing joy to children through our play work and mascots so that we might be able to help those in less fortunate circumstances. We have given gifts, funded trips and fun activities and some have even been lucky enough to meet the mayor! We are very grateful for continued help and support so that we are able to keep bringing smiles to children's faces in this way.

Job Description

​

• To support the organisations work in relation to supporting more children within the Black Country and Birmingham areas and assisting the organisation to raise more funds through using skills as a mascot to entertain children and their families.

• To interact with children and young people whilst being a mascot character. Female applicants may be expected to dress up as princesses and male applicants as super heroes.

• Work alongside another sessional worker to ensure mascot costume is on correctly.

• To entertain customers that come to MMP CIC events.

• Take reasonable care for his or her own health and safety and for that of others who may be affected by his or her work as required by law and outlined in the relevant policy. This will involve following risk assessments in place and reporting any concerns to the managing director.

• Ensure the safeguarding of children and young people.

Person Specification:

• Must be 16 years plus and experienced in supporting children and young people in an informal environment.

• Excellent time keeping and organisational skills.

• A pro-active caring approach with enthusiasm and commitment to entertain children, young people and their families.

• Flexible approach to work, including evenings and weekends.

• Be willing to undertake appropriate training to enhance sessional work which will be paid at £7.83 per hour.

• Willing to undergo Enhanced DBS check (funded by organisation)
