I was appointed as Student Governor in March 2022. I have served on the Dudley Students’ Union Leadership Team for 2 years; this year I was being elected as the Vice President of Finance. I am holding these posts whilst studying for an Applied Science BTEC Level 3. Whilst in my time in office for Dudley SU I have achieved some significant achievements both in my personal and professional development. For my fundamental work in supporting the student LGBTQIA+ community, I was recognised at the National Queer Students Awards in the category of ‘College member’, and overall main accolade of “Queer Student of the Year 2021”. I am also the proud recipient of “Young Believer Award” presented at the Dudley Community Voluntary Service Kindness Awards. I joined the SU because I wanted to help students and create a bigger, stronger college community that we can all be proud of.
